" Bridgehampton Rally"For sports car fans of a certain advanced age, the word "Bridgehampton" evokes images of European racers competing against locals in street races sponsored by the fire department as part of their summer carnival, between 1915 and 1921. For many more, the image is of a 4.5-mile road course, with Jaguar SSs, Allards, Healey Silverstones and Ferraris dicing it out on the streets of the Hamptons in the immortal Road Races of 1949-1953. An accident at Watkins Glen on May 24, 1953, involving spectators spelled the end of true "road" racing in America, and in New York state in particular, and a group of investors (which included local farmers, merchants and mechanics, along with assorted wealthy urban New Yorkers) began to investigate the possibility of building a dedicated road course in Bridgehampton.

WOMM!!!!
It is not the sound of a freshly caught striped bass flopping in the sand. Rather, it is the sound of the latest craze in Corporate America called "Word of Mouth Marketing." It is Big Business' most honest form of marketing because it builds on the natural desire of consumers to share their experiences with friends. It is quite simply- the art of consumer-to-consumer communications, one person at a time.
